Internet shopping rocks

Don't tell Beka but I just bought a new battery for my cell phone on Amazon. I paid $12 for it when I was just about to buy one from Verizon for $40! It is the exact same battery that's in my phone now, no imposters! I love buying things on-line and just waiting for them to come in the mail, it's so easy - until you have to return stuff:( which is pretty much inevitable. So anyways, from now on my cell phone can once again be what it was meant to be - portable.

stressed?

Okay, I know it's strange but whenever I get totally stressed out my tounge pushes to the top of my mounth and it stays that way even when I talk so I get even worse of a lisp... it's so weird! It's like breathing, one of those things your body does without you having to tell it to and you can't really stop it either. I used to notice it doing that all the time after I knew I was already stressed so I knew that was just like a side effect but a couple days ago I realized I was doing that and I can't think why I am stressed out! I do have a story/script that I have to write for school that's putting a lot of pressure on me... and a 24 hour film festival thats coming up. Hm... I don't get it, it's just weird.

Anyways, school is still going good! Being able to take a few hours off work has been a slight relief also. Not a total relief, but it's better. Friday I started up in a spin class at the gym that starts at 6:15 in the morning. So I woke up for that at 5:45, biked (hard!!!) for 45 min. went to work and then to school! Needless to say I fell asleep in the middle of my movie that night. Sad as that was because I was watching That Thing You Do - one of my all time favorites!

We helped Nett move into her townhouse at school this afternoon. It's a pretty nice size place. There is a good sized living room and kitchen/dining room on the main floor then 3 bedrooms on the top floor and an unfinished basement for storage. She only has 2 roommates because one girl dropped so she totally lucked out and they each have their own room! That was a pretty exciting discovery.

Magnificent Obsession

Lord, You know how much
I want to know so much
In the way of answers and explanations
I have cried and prayed
And still I seem to stay
In the middle of life’s complications
All this pursuing leaves me feeling like I’m chasing down the wind
But now it’s brought me back to You
And I can see again

This is everything I want
This is everything I need
I want this to be my one consuming passion
Everything my heart desires
Lord, I want it all to be for You, Jesus
Be my magnificent obsession

So capture my heart again
Take me to depths I’ve never been
Into the riches of
Your grace and Your mercy
Return me to the cross
And let me be completely lost
In the wonder of the love
That You’ve shown me
Cut through these chains that tie me down to so many lesser things
Let all my dreams fall to the ground
Until this one remains

You are everything I want
And You are everything I need
Lord, You are all my heart desires
You are everything to me

You are everything I want
You are everything I need
I want You to be my one consuming passion
Everything my heart desires
Lord, I want it all to be for You
I want it all to be for You

Slide on over JHBC...

Don't get me wrong, I LOVED my year at the Bible college in Jackson and I will never ever forget it but after just two short school days I do believe this coming year is going to be right up there on "best years of my life!"

In case I haven't mentioned, or you've forgotten, I just started a one year program at a small film school in downtown GR. And when I say "small" I am referring only to the size of the student body. I don't like even using that word to describe it because it makes the school sound irreputable and inexperienced and from what I've seen, it's anything but that. These people have a passion for film. In fact, it was their life before coming to teach here. They all have worked or currently work in the professional film industry in all different areas and have so many sweet contacts! We are going to be able to do some pretty sweet things this coming year, I'm really excited! The profs are so amazing. There are only 16 of us students in the program this year and they purposely kept it small like that because they want quality from us. They have really high expectations of our work, not to disscourage us but because they know that's how things work out there in the world and that's what people want to see. I've been amazed at how each one of them has taken the time to sit down with each of us students and have a conversation with us about what our dream is. What are we doing there at the school and what is everything we want to know by the time we are done in the spring. They have specifically talked to me about what I want to do and how they are going to help me in the class sessions, just giving examples and pointing out what will be specifically useful in that. Another thing that's cool is they set me up with a "student in residense" which are people who have taken a certain number of classes from the school before and are now working on their own but the school gives them office space in exchange for helping out some newbies like ourselves. Currently the school has 10 students in residence and they set me up with one super sweet girl who's name is Jessica. She has her own business right now and is doing alot of the things I think I am interested in. I am so excited to be able to spend time with her this year, learning. They call her my mentor, because essentially that is what she will be doing for me.

So all-in-all yes, it's a nerdy school where people make movie puns and quotes for hours at a time and call it "conversation" but it's enjoyable (to listen to at least)! I'm not nearly as much of a movie geek as they are but there are alot of fun people I have met and I am SO excited for this year which couldn't be any bigger answer to prayer seeing how nervous I was at first!!! Yea!

Fall is in the air

Fall really is one of the most wonderful times of the whole year. I'm working on reminding myself of that fact because I keep overlooking it and becoming depressed, thinking about the inevitable LONG winter we have coming to us here in Michigan! I really do like fall though, it has to be my favorite seasons, that, and Spring. The Lord has been kind enough to be giving me little reminders of why I can look forward to the cooler months ahead. I have to admit, I really do enjoy cool nights and mornings, with the heat on in the car on the way to work. It's always fun switching wardrobes too, pulling out all those sweaters and jeans that have been stuffed under the bed or in the spare closet all summer long. What else? Random campfires in the backyard, hot chocolate, picking apples at the orchard, colorful leaves, biking down the trails covered with those colorful leaves... And who can think about fall without thinking about the smell alone of the season. It's just so crisp and fresh smelling. I like it:) Okay, I'm about ready now. So BRING IT ON.
