#wilterinkweddingmarathon

So my siblings and I have created this hashtag, #wilterinkweddingmarathon, for all the weddings in our family this year. Out of four kids, three are getting married in the same year (actually within a few short months of each other). See what we mean by 'marathon'??

That leaves me ... hopeless and depressed. Actually I am totally joking about that, only by the grace of God! Seriously, who wouldn't be depressed in my shoes? God has given me this incredible ability to not let these weddings affect me, it's crazy really, I can't explain how OKAY I really am!

The one and only thing I wish I had been more prepared for would be the comments from others ... you know, "those people." The ones who kill all joy by turning to you mid conversation and say things like, "now we just have to find one for you", or, "don't worry, yours will come in the right time". I know you are trying to be sweet but haven't you read all those articles on what NOT to say to single adults? I suppose you haven't. Well, I suppose I also haven't read the articles on how to give a sweet response when you really just want to throw up at a comment, so I guess we're even.

I truly believe God brought this particular foster daughter into my life at the time He did for a reason.

A huge (really, ginormous) part of my life right now is taking care of a sweet-hearted five year old girl. The opportunity I have to be her foster mom for this time is completely an act of God. I'm learning just how imperfect I am, which is actually working out great in my quest to kill my pride. I am also learning what a perfect husband God is to me. I'm finally getting the hang of going to Him first and then looking back and marveling at how He answered my pleas for help and assistance. I have a little one to nurture and protect and believe me, she is quite the distraction from most everything else going on.

So I thank the Lord for it all and know that I will look back on this pretty crazy time in life and see Him being faithful every step of the way.
