A simple enough pleasure, surely, to have breakfast alone with one's husband,
but how seldom married people in the midst of life achieve it.
-Anne Morrow Lindbergh
Maybe it's dumb to start with a quote but I heard something like that once and that idea is the premise to the following random yet orderly thoughts! You know how it is when you are at a certain stage in life and you look at people who are at a totally different stage and see what you enjoy about what they have and vise versa (i.e. being single and looking at the lives of married friends)?? I think I do that alot. I think alot as I am laying in bed every night and thoughts along those lines pop into my head quite often I have to admit. I'll think about the picture perfect sunset I saw on the beach, or the perfect stars and think about how nice it'd be to share that with someone. I know in a way it sounds a little corney to me too but stuff like that seems like it is meant to be shared. So rather than allowing my jealousy or depression to surface, I just make a list of that stuff that I think of so Lord willing, someday I'll remember all the stuff I wanted to do again and be able to share it with someone. And ALSO, so I can remember to tell my married friends to enjoy what they have and not take it for granted, not that they do take it for granted but we all tend to get 'used' to things too quickly.
Now I am told by a certain friend who happens to be married that she can argue that there are pleanty of things she thinks of in the same way I do, but sees how they are better enjoyed by a single person. Not that she would change her mind if she had the choice and choose to be single again, just that...(incomplete thought/mind blank, I know. Hopefully you follow anyway). So if she well pleases, I would enjoy hearing her list of things when she comes up with it! I really tried not to sound depressing, because I don't feel that way. It's just hard to not think about someday having that kind of love in your life like I'm reading about in my book right now, or watching in that cute movie, or hearing about in that song...haha maybe it's too late at night to be bearing my heart out on the computer, I'm sure I'll read this in the morning and wonder what I was thinking! Oh well, we shall each learn to praise the Lord for where we are and pray really hard that someday our prince will come.
