Have you ever found yourself in a situation that was just plain awkward and you have no idea where the awkwardness came from or why!?
There's this guy at my church who reminds me (for some reason) of a guy I knew a while back and had a little crush on. This guy at my church has a girlfriend, one of the girls in my Bible Study. I have no interest in this guy but I can't figure out why it's awkward between us.
For example...
Saturday night after church we were cleaning up from dinner. I went into the kitchen to grab paper towels to wipe down the tables. He was the only other one in the kitchen, dumping coffee into the sink. While he's handing me the paper towels, he says 'so Marissa, I don't think we've ever had a real conversation, how are you?' I begin to answer and ask him if he's found a replacement car since his accident... as I'm asking he spills the coffee ALL over the counter. (and you know how sometimes it's awkward when you're talking to someone and they get distracted? Yes? No?) I have the paper towels in my hand so I rip off a couple and go for more and I knock the entire paper towel roll into the sink full of water! haha Thankfully someone comes in to break the awkwardness in the air and asks for the bathroom. I show her and knowing I couldn't handle any more I just grab a few wet paper towels and tell him I've got to get to wiping tables and will talk to him later. ahhh! haha did I do and okay job of explaining the situation or no? It was awkward.
